An Turas Bád/the Boat Trip
Údarás na Gaeltachta is organising 3 information & networking sessions on marine tourism. The sessions will take place through mid-morning over 3 Thursdays in March, on the 11th, 18th and 25th. Sessions last between 60 and 75 minutes, starting at 11.45am. The sessions are aimed at marine tourism businesses in the Gaeltacht or for anyone interested in developing a business in the Gaeltacht. It is an opportunity to hear about successful businesses, get to know businesses in the Gaeltacht and see good marketing practices. It is hoped that the sessions will lead to strong links between businesses across the Gaeltacht.
They will be practical sessions looking at best practice , selling online as well as an opportunity to network with other marine tourism businesses in the Gaeltacht counties.
This first session will focus on the Boat Trip & fishing. What is the visitor looking for when going on a trip? Fishing, visiting islands, storytelling, learning about the area or maybe a picnic? Among the speakers are the Gatheralls and O’Briens, competitive boat tour companies in Newfoundland, Canada who’ve co-operated to survive through the challenges of Covid 19.
